Coastlands U H & CC  is situated in Gatemax a Commercial, retail and Hotel complex boasting fine architecture, sharp definition and unmistakable features of perfection. Coastlands Gatemax is Centrally located on the Ridge of Umhlanga Rocks, north of Durban. The hotel has the most desired, captivating and breathtaking views of Umhlanga and the ocean overlooking the Dolphin Coast.

Conference equipment

The African Fire Convention Centre is a 400 seater venue situated on the 2nd floor of the hotel. This venue can be divided into 4 smaller venues to accommodate smaller corporate conferences, day conference packages, gala dinners and weddings. The African Fire Convention has become a very popular venue with unique decor and seating options. Other venues on the 2nd floor include 3 breakaway rooms and The Heritage Convention Centre which seats up to 300 guests. The Heritage offers captivating views of the Umhlanga beach. Other conference venue options include 2 boardrooms with state of the art equipment.

Accommodation 

All Bedrooms are en-suite and are fully air-conditioned and include the following; Flat screen TV with selected DSTV channels, Mini bar fridge stocked on request, electronic safe, tea & coffee making facilities, wireless internet connectivity, shower amenities, hair dryer, mattress converters & baby cots available on request.  Rooms with baths are available.

Recreational activities

Coastlands is a stone's throw away from the largest shopping mall in the Southern Hemisphere, Gateway Theatre of Shopping, the main Umhlanga promenade and beachfront. The Saffron restaurant is situated on the 4th floor of the hotel and can seat up to 160 guests. This restaurant overlooks the main Umhlanga beach and is opened daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. After a sumptuous meal, tuck into a cafe mocha or select from our imported coffee blends at the Vanilla Coffee Shop adjacent to the restaurant.
