Companies are only as good as the people that run them and looking at the impressive track record and bidding successes enjoyed by the Sandton Convention Centre (SCC), it is clear that SCC is a commercial powerhouse for events, exhibitions and meetings in Gauteng.

The Sandton Convention Centre Johannesburg is thrilled to announce that record attendance numbers were achieved at the recently concluded 2012 Meetings Africa international exhibition. Meetings Africa is Africa’s business tourism lekgotla which ran over three days from 28^th February to 1 March at the Sandton Convention Centre. Overall attendance was 20 percent up compared to 2011, recording 3 452 visitors and with registered international visitor numbers nearly doubling from 106 in 2011 to 205 in 2012.

The Southern African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI) will again be holding educational sessions during Meetings Africa.

Almost 200 international buyers from around the world are expected to attend Meetings Africa 2012, which takes place at the Sandton Convention Centre from 28 February to 1 March 2012 and features the cream of Africa’s conference, meeting, exhibition and events businesses. In order to capitalise on this interest, exhibitors are encouraged to take advantage of the customised Business Matchmaking^TM System, which is now live, to set up and plan their meetings in advance.

It’s been a bumper year for the Sandton Convention Centre (SCC) with the centre managing to secure a number of major bids for local and international meetings and events. The winning streak commenced early in January 2011, with the SCC being named host venue for the following events taking place in 2012:
