According to CTICC, Chief Operating Officer, Joey Pather, the centre is delighted to win this award. The CTICC, which boasts over 11 000m² of dedicated, column-free space, provides the perfect venue for any exhibition or trade show. “The sub - divisibility of the exhibition halls and the flexibility of the centre combined with the world class infrastructure and service excellence, makes the CTICC an ideal exhibition and conference venue” says Pather. The CTICC is the venue of choice for mega events like the Cape Town International Jazz Festival, the Design Indaba Conference and Expo and popular exhibitions such as the Cape Homemakers Expo, the Good Food and Wine Show and Decorex to name a few.
During the 2010/2011 financial year the centre hosted over 500 events and attracted a record number of 1 243 910 visitor, delegate and tourist days. This is the highest number since the centre opened its doors and can be attributed to the increase in attendance at exhibitions and trade fairs. “The exhibition halls, individually or in various configurations, were used on 84 separate occasions, for various events, yielding 53 % occupancy” added Pather.
