Event_Greening_Forum_LogoAll EGF members are obviously welcome but any interested non-members may attend the AGM as well. A talk on ‘Greening the CCR Expo at COP17′ will be given immediately afterwards by Justin Hawes of Scan Display and co-founder of the EGF.

What is the Event Greening Forum?

The Event Greening Forum (EGF) was established to promote and embrace sustainable and ethical business practices within the events industry in South Africa, with an initial focus on meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions and events (hereafter called events industry).

Sectors identified by the Event Greening Forum as relevant to their comcerns and aims are:

  • Professional Conference Organizers (PCOs) and Destination Management Companies (DMCs)
  • Exhibition and Events Organizers
  • Suppliers and Sub-contractors (infrastructure, AV, transport, products, etc)
  • Venues

Objectives of the Event Greening Forum include setting minimum standards around event greening within the industry; providing a platform for sharing information and best practice around event greening principles and practices; and raising awareness and promoting training opportunities for event greening principles and practices.

The Event Greening Forum was established with support from the industry and the founding members are:

  • Exhibition & Event Association of Southern Africa (EXSA)
  • Southern African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI)
  • Southern African Tourism Services Association (SATSA)
  • Federated Hospitality Association of Southern Africa (Fedhasa)
  • Certified Meeting Professional Network South Africa (CMP Network SA)
  • International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA)
  • Technical Production Services Association (TPSA)
  • South African Roadies Association (SA Roadies)
