The Arniston Spa describes Arniston as a place of dreams and I think they may be right. Peace, inspiration, sand dunes, rock pools, the endless ocean … all of these form part of the Arniston experience.

Only 2 hours from Cape Town, on a road that meanders through the beautiful rolling hills of the Overberg region, Arniston is still a quaint fishing village, set in one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa. It was, in fact, voted as one of the world's top ten hideaways by Time magazine.

The Arniston Spa Hotel is an ideal venue for all your conference, incentive, launches, promotions and event needs.

Luxurious accommodation is provided, and the elegant single, double and twin rooms offer comfort and amenities of world-class standard.

The two restaurants offer mouth-watering meals, and the sophisticated menus are complemented by an award-winning wine list of top local wine producers. They also offer a number of other dining options in the area.

The elegant conference venue on the first floor is fully equipped with modern multimedia technology and can host up to 100 delegates, while the wine cellar is an intimate venue for 30 guests, ideal for a board meeting or private dinner.

Arniston and the surrounding areas offer a host of activities to enhance your conference, incentive or event package. The spa is operated by the renowned Ginkgo Wellness Group and offers a wide range of treatments to pamper you and calm your mind.

All 60 rooms are tastefully furnished, each with a full en suite bathroom, a minibar (stocked on request), facilities for making coffee/tea, and satellite television. Wireless internet access is available in all the rooms. Extra beds can be added for children.

Dining options for conference groups

  • Hotel Restaurant - For bigger groups. Large tables are set in the main restaurant and delegates have the option of an à la carte, buffet or set menu.
  •  Bar/Patio Area - This is a more informal dining area. The bistro has a beautiful seawater aquarium and leads onto a large patio, which overlooks the Indian Ocean. Menu options are the same as above.
  • Hotel Cellar - This private venue with its relaxed atmosphere offers a great opportunity for team building. It is transformed for the perfect dining experience when a long table is set and plenty of candles are lit. Menu choices are the same as above. Maximum of 30 people.
  • Fish Braai (weather permitting) - Enjoy a relaxed evening around the hotel pool in the courtyard. Guests are encouraged to choose their own fish directly from the community’s small commercial fishing fleet when they return from the day’s fishing. The fish is then prepared in the hotel’s kitchen, and served with a variety of other seafood and meat dishes.
  • Kassiesbaai (private dining venue) - This is a community project in historical Kassiesbaai, a living monument village where guests are looked after by the “retired ladies” of the village. A mere 800 m from the hotel you will be hosted in a typical limestone home with thatched roof and a wood-burning stove. The food is local fare, especially fresh fish.

 Leisure Activities

If you have some leisure time or wish to do team building, a host of unique activities in and around the hotel are offered.

  •  Arniston Ginkgo Spa - Operated by the Ginkgo Spa & Wellness Group, the spa offers a wide variety of skin and body treatments, as well as the unique Rasul, a Turkish inspired mud/steam bath. All treatments must be pre-booked to avoid disappointment.
  • L’Agulhas/Struisbaai - Take a trip to the southernmost tip of Africa and stand at the end of a continent. Observe the meeting of two oceans and note the unique coastal vegetation.
  • Beaches and swimming - Choose between the hotel’s swimming pool or the warm Indian Ocean. Body boards are available and there are two safe beaches for swimming.
  • Boating - Take a boat trip from Struisbaai harbour into the bay, where you might have a close encounter with a school of dolphins or Southern Right whales.
  • Bredasdorp - Discover this quaint town. Visit the only shipwreck museum in the southern hemisphere and the world renowned Kapula Gallery and candle factory shop.
  • Cycling - Arniston is a great area for cycling, with little traffic on the road and interesting off-road mountain bike tracks. The hotel has bicycles for guests.
  • Sundowners on the beach or on the dunes – The hotel will drive you as close as possible and then you have to climb the dune, carrying your drinks. From the vantage point you can watch the sun set and observe the sea and sand dunes change colour.Arniston-Spa-Hotel-for-Conferences
  • Volleyball – The hotel will set up a court on the beach or on the lawn in front of the hotel.
  • Waenhuiskrans - This is a famous landmark. The village gets its Afrikaans name from this wonderful sea cave, accessible only at low tide and called thus because it was large enough to turn a span of oxen towing a wagon. The English name originates from the East India sailing ship, the Arniston Transport, wrecked off the coast in 1815 with a loss of lives surpassed only by the Titanic. The wreck of the Arniston lies exposed on a sandy beach about a 2 km walk from the hotel.
  • Walking - There are many walks along unspoilt stretches of beach. A favourite is the De Mond nature reserve.
